Digital downloads are a really popular way to purchase art prints these days. But when buying digital files vs. ‘already-printed’, there’s a few things you need to know to get started. Here are your next steps.
Once your purchase is complete, Westbrook Print Shop will send you an email containing all the art files. The email will be titled ‘Your art print downloads from Westbrook Print Shop’, so make sure to check your junk folder if you don’t receive this email.
Please download these files for safekeeping - since art files are large, we definitely suggest using a computer or laptop instead of your phone or tablet.
For each design, you’ll receive 3 ‘Ratio’ files, each properly sized so that the artwork is the correct length & width. Having the correct ratio of length to width is important so your artwork doesn't looked 'stretched' or out of proportion.
When it’s time to get your artwork printed, just choose and send the right Ratio file for your chosen finished art print size as follows:
- 4:5 Ratio - use this file for: 8x10, 11x14, 16x20
- 3:4 Ratio - use this file for: 5x7, 9x12, 18x24
- 2:3 Ratio - use this file for: 12x18, 20x30, 24x36
